Champagne can only be produced from grapes grown in the designated "Champagne" district of Epernay, Rheims, Sézanne, Aube and Côte des Blancs. It is a blend of cuvée of three grape varieties, two of which are black, namely the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and a white which is Chardonnay, the classic grape of White Burgundy.
